Stephen Vincent Crimson - The Wine of the Week UNDER $15

In honor of the beginning of College Football Season, here is a great wine to drink on Saturdays this Fall. 75% Syrah, 25% Cabernet, Stephen Vincent Crimson is the perfect wine for tailgating. It goes great with BBQ, burgers, brats, or whatever your traditional gameday fare might be. Crimson is always popular with the Alabama Fans, but even this Georgia boy can appreciate a great glass of wine.

Solaire Chardonnay by Robert Mondavi - The Wine of the Week UNDER $15

For me, finding balance in a bottle of California Chardonnay can be a challenge, many are so oakey and buttery that the subtle nuances of the Chardonnay grape are lost, ne’er to be heard from again. In Solaire, we find one of the final projects of the late Robert Mondavi, an exploration into the Central Coast of California, namely the Santa Lucia Highlands. Lush and tropical on the palate, Solaire is aged in 100% French Oak, lending a soft, toasty oak flavor to the finish.

It’s nice to be recognized…

I logged on this morning to find that Birmingham Magazine mentioned The Wine Pig in their annual “Birmingham on the Web” article. Thanks to them for the kind words! Go out and pick up a copy (check out pg. 87) and see who else made the list. Special congrats to Andre Natta over at The Terminal, his is a page I enjoy almost daily.
