Pop it open. You can smell the value immediately, notes of espresso and chocolate, earthy structure arranges intense and rich blackberries with velvety tannins on the mid-palate, and the finish will last as long as you let it. If you need a risk-free Bordeaux, this is one of the best I have had under $20, much less $15.

Primitivo is essentially Zinfandel in its Italian incarnation. Rich and full bodied, this wine gives off a wide spectrum of aromas; intense blackberry envelopes the palate, woodland earth provides lovely structure, and the finish is rustic and thick. A delicious wine that instantly captivated me, and I’m sure will do the same for you.
