128 Red Blend - The Wine of the Week UNDER $15

128

This tasty treat is a blend of primarily Syrah, Petite Sirah and Cabernet, made by the talented hand of Spencer Graham (Elizabeth Spencer Wines). Juicy, lush and ripe, 128 has a surprising amount of balancing acidity that makes for a quickly emptied glass. Enjoy this wine by itself or with grilled meats, spicy sausage, or barbequed chicken.

Domaine de Nizas Coteaux du Languedoc - The Wine of the Week UNDER $15

This week’s wine is from one of my favorite value AOC’s in southern France, Coteaux du Languedoc. Made from all estate-grown fruit, this is a blend of 60% Syrah, 35% Mourvedre, and 5% Grenache. The reason I love this wine is that it evokes the same deep, rich, garriguey aromas and flavors that are commonplace in my favorite Rhone valley wines, but convieniently priced for daily consumption. A brilliant pairing with one of my favorite meals, braised lamb!
