Domaine Saint-Vincent is the entry level offering from one of my favorite domestic sparkling producers, the Gruet family. Who knew that New Mexico could produce this level of quality?

One of the best values in domestic sparkling wines on the market, this wine is dry with flavors of apples, lemons, flinty earth and bread dough. Well balanced and food-friendly, this sparkling wine offers a clean and refreshing finish.

I took a bottle of this tasty treat home last night for a bit of “product familiarization” (*read: drank the whole bottle myself).

Wow, what a refreshing wine! 70% Trebbiano Toscano, 15% Chardonnay and 15% Sauvignon Blanc, Pepestrino is bright and crisp, but full and richly floral on the nose and palate. For me,  in an Italian white category that is crowded with boring, watered down junk-bottles, wines like Felsina Pepestrino, and for that matter, Zenato Lugana and Maculan Pinot and Toi are original, interesting and frankly, hands down a better value than Pinot Grigios in the same price range. Give this one a try and see if you don’t agree!
